This was one of my favorite games growing up, and the Star Trek edition is just as much fun, but has a couple of added features: According to the back of the tin, when you get down to your last card, instead of merely saying "Uno!" you have to say "Uno, I'm a Doctor!" My favorite part of the game, however, is the "Beam Up" card, which allows you to "beam out" of trouble by cancelling out draw-two or draw-four cards.
- If you're not familiar with Uno, here's a link to the official rules (for regular Uno).
Here is the tin out of the box. |
This is the back of the tin, with an explanation of the "Uno, I'm a Doctor!" rule. |
A sampling of the cards. I wish they'd picked a better photo of McCoy, but since there's a rule based on one of his lines, I guess I shouldn't complain. |
This card is my favorite feature of the game: If a "draw two" or "draw four" card is played against you, you can use this card to "beam out" of trouble. |

Next week on Zach Trek: On Tuesday, check in for a short but well-done video related to piloting spacecraft. On Thursday check in for a recurring alien presence.
